Smart phone companies these days are thriving on low budget phones as they have a maximum audience outreach. Huawei’s P smart device is one good phone within a mid-range budget costing only PKR 26,000. In contrast, Honor, which is Huawei’s sub brand, offers the Honor 9 Lite along similar lines of cost and specifications.

The P smart device has top of the line latest specifications and does not give off the vibe that it’s not a high end phone. Huawei has crafted the phone out of aluminium which gives it the smooth metallic finish and a classy look. Other specifications include:

  • Android 8.0
  • 32GB internal storage
  • 8MP front camera
  • 13MP and 2MP rear camera
  • 3GB RAM
  • Octa core processor
  • Kirin 659 chipset
  • 3000 mAh battery
  • 65 inches display

The 18:9 screen ratio along with a 5.65 inches display gives the device a tall look like top end smart phones these days such as the Galaxy S9 and the iPhone X. Although Huawei has added a dual lens back camera, the pictures do not come out as very sharp and are not up to mark if captured with low lighting or in the dark. In contrast the 8MP front camera gives better picture quality when paired with the front flash.

The P smart device functions on a Hi-Silicon chipset and an octa core processor which enables it to function smoothly and handle applications without glitching. The phone’s 3000mAh battery lasts for an entire day for the average user of messaging, calling and scrolling through social media applications. However, the phone does not support fast charging and takes about one and a half hour to fully charge. To increase battery life options of power saving mode are available are in the phone.

The P smart phone runs on Android 8.0 as well as Huawei’s own EMUI simultaneously.

A good phone for anyone who has a low budget and needs basic to good features in his/her smartphone.
